David H Miller, 39, died on
February 2, 2004. Miller was a desk officer for Angola, Namibia,
and South Africa in the Bureau for Africa from 1989 to 1991.
From 1991 to 1993, he worked with the Overseas Private
Investment Corporation, developing investment promotion programs
for US businesses interested in African markets. In 1993, Miller
started the Corporate Council on Africa with six corporate
members and no staff. He went on to form AfricaGlobal Partners
in 1999.

"The whole Swazi Nation has
learnt with great sorrow of the passing of David Miller.
We have known David for many years as an honorable, energetic
and extremely capable individual who dedicated much of his
professional life in the service of Africa and her people. From
his time as the founder of the Corporate Council on Africa, and
with his own company AfricaGlobal, David worked hard to bring
Africans and Americans closer together and achieved considerable
success in the painfully short time that he was granted us.
In 2003, David was decorated with one of the Kingdom's highest
awards, "Officer of the Order of the Swazi Crown: in recognition
of his considerable efforts to help Swaziland - and the rest of
Southern Africa - to overcome the HIV/AIDS crisis. The charity
that he helped to create, and the CD "Songs for Life", are
living testament to his determination to improve the lives of
millions of Africans, through the medium of music for which he
had a great love himself.
His time with us has been all too brief. Africa has lost a good
friend.
We send our deepest condolences to his wife Kyung, to his
children Max, Audrey and Han, and to his family and friends. May
Almighty God, watch over them at this time of tragedy.
